Issue 20: diff visionOS - Designer & Developer Check In

Vision Pro Designer & Developer Check In

My friends Oliver and Yuki, along with Tom Krikorian, have created two Vision Pro creator surveys. Tom has created his second survey for developers. Previously he collected data a year ago. Oliver and Yuki have made a survey for designers and UX folks.

It's been two years since the Apple Vision Pro was announced at WWDC23. Let's take a look at the state of development for this amazing platform. After taking the survey(s) you can sign up to receive the results.

The deadline for entering is May 25, 2025.

The Green Spurt creators - interview

In the latest instalment of the More Than Just Podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing Roxana Monica Nagy and Cristian Díaz about there upcoming escape room game for Vision Pro. They built the app with TableTopKit and I've been playing it throughout it's development. The video version of the interview is on Youtube. The audio version is waiting in production.

Apple Immersive Video apps

The macOS & visionOS apps allow you to review spatial video on your Mac as well as your Vision Pro. Generally these videos are 3D videos recorded in 8K resolution, with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio. Run the app on your Vision Pros and Mac and you can organize and review the videos on either.

From Apple: "Apple Immersive Video Utility for macOS allows you to import, organize, package, and review Apple Immersive Video media on your Mac. Combined with Apple Immersive Video Utility for visionOS, you can connect and review Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro."

One More Thing... Spacial Gallery app

Have you tried the Apple's Spacial Gallery app? The app showcases some of the best 3D experiences; movies and photography. These are the best quality examples that I've seen. Lots of behind the scenes 3D photography of Apple TV shows, as well as featured 3D and immersive content available for the Vision Pro.

Xcode 26 Persona now uses Gaussian Splats for better rendering. One Week with Vision Pro M5 It’s been a week since I got my new Vision Pro M5 — the second configuration from Apple — and I’m ready to share my impressions. TL;DR: It’s noticeably sharper and faster than the original Vision Pro.
