Issue 24: diff visionOS - Celebrating Two Years of Vision Pro!

It's been over two years since the launch of Vision Pro, and we have some exciting news to share with you! If you've missed it, YouTube has finally arrived on Vision Pro, offering a native app experience with unique features. Let's dive into the details.

YouTube on Vision Pro:

I've explored various ways to access YouTube on Vision Pro, from using different apps to browsers like Safari. While the YouTube native app on Vision Pro offers some advantages such as native integration and support for 8K videos and spatial VR content, it lacks some features found in the standard YouTube apps.

One notable limitation is the challenge of "Liking" videos directly within the app, leading me to resort to using other devices to interact with my YouTube account fully. Despite these minor setbacks, the app's ability to display 8K videos and provide a dedicated spatial tab for immersive experiences adds a new dimension to content consumption on Vision Pro. Still there's some work for the developers at Google.

Celebrating Two Years of Vision Pro:

As we mark the two-year anniversary of Vision Pro's launch, I recall the excitement of picking up my device in Victor, New York. The journey to acquire Vision Pro was an adventure, and the community of enthusiasts, developers, and artists at Step Into Vision has made this experience even more rewarding. To celebrate this milestone, we recently gathered on a Zoom call to share our stories and experiences with Vision Pro.

You can catch up on Two Years of Vision Pro Discussions with the Step Into Vision Community on my YouTube channel and audio podcast, More Than Just Code. Tim Chaten of Vision Pros also published the audio version of the show.

We're also working on a spatial documentary app called "Shared Vision" to showcase our collective experiences.
