TableTopKit TL;DR

Cristian (without h) and Roxana Nagy are building a game app for Vision Pro using TableTopKit. I had a chance to play around with a few people on a spatial call, including Cristian last week.

TabletopKit was introduced this year at WWDC24 in a "lightweight" package of one session accompanied by a sample code project and the relative documentation.

You can read about Cristian's discoveries, observations and some thoughts on TableTopKit on his blog. He includes some "radars" that have been sent to Apple.

Preorder BlackMagic's $30K Apple Immersive Video Camera

Many of us have been speculating what camera Apple has been using for their immersive movies. Some of my professional photographers and movie maker friends recognized that they were made by BlackMagic. Apple revealed the camera at WWDC 24. Now you can preorder the BlackMagic URSA Cine Immersive cameras and combine it with DaVinci Resolve to create your own immersive videos, shooting in 8K at 90 fps.

Apple Immersive Adventure - Ice Dive

Apple dropped Episode 3: Ice Dive, in its Adventure series. These are the in-your-face experiences that show off the amazing spatial audio & video technology in the Vision Pro. In episode 1, you join a high-wire walker in the fiords, if you're not afraid of heights. That's part of the demo you'll see in the Apple Store Vision Pro demo. The second takes place on Paris roof tops as you join some parkour adventurers. Again some intense heights on display.

This time we join an ice diver in Iceland as he free-dives in an attempt to break the world record with a dive 180+ meters long. You can hold your breath for 3 minutes, right?

Me wearing my first Vision Pro at the Rochester NY Apple Store One Year With Apple Vision Pro It's been just over a year for early adopters of the Apple Vision Pro. I think for the majority of users it's been an amazing change for how we work and consume media. The bandwagon jumpers all returned their devices after the 14 day cooling off period. Like any new device it has its detractors, but I think a lot of us realize that Apple positioned the device as a Pro purchase to introduce this...

Early XR prototype? The Arnolfini Portrait by Jan Van Eyck is probably the one of the first extended reality proof of concepts I saw. The truth is that an artists prowess was in depicting reality, before photography was invented. Still I was inspired by this artwork's attention to detail and trompe l'oeil ('fool the eye"). NVIDIA Adopts Vision Pro with it's Issac Groot AI Enabled Robots Unveiled at CES earlier this month, NVIDIA's keynote introduced several amazing new features, but Issac...

'Wicked' Use of Vision Pro Director John M. Chu used Apple Vision Pro during post-production of the film Wicked. He used the device to watch scenes as if he was in a theatre. He could then communicate with his teams about his thoughts. He was also able to mark up the film with gestures with Evercast, so the production team would know where to make changes. Watch him discuss the use of his Vision Pro on YouTube. You can read about the use of the device on 9to5mac.‘Wicked’ director Jon M. Chu...
