Looked At Clouds From Both Sides

Stealing the line from Joni Mitchell, this weekend Gregory Weiber aka Dreamweiber published a quick Reality Composer Pro Shader Graph tutorial on creating clouds, procedurally created with subtle movement. I look a quick look this afternoon, and hope to see it attached to a sphere on the inside for a skybox (both sides). I love seeing Shader Graph content as currently they are not well documented in the visionOS world.

Carina D1: PixMXR has remixed their charging stand for Vision Pro

Last week I saw and instantly ordered the new Carina D1 Charging Dock for Apple Vision Pro on Amazon. It is much more compact than my Apple Travel Case, which I've been using to move between rooms. The bonus for me is that it includes a 65 watt charger brick and the battery charges as it rests in the dock.

Starry Skies

Dwight Benigus aka Dwight the Maker published a quick tutorial on creating a realistic star field with Reality Composer Pro using Particle Emitters. He demos how to set up the emitters to create the stars and use RealityKit code to pause the motion, since stars unlike the clouds above don't move preceptively.

Testing Spatial Photo and Video Embeds

Thanks this time to Micheal Verdi's blog post TESTING SPATIAL PHOTO AND VIDEO EMBEDS he's demoed how Safari can support Spatial Photos and Spatial Videos, shot on iPhone 15/16 Pro, and can be viewed on the Vision Pro. With a couple of clicks, users can select a photo or video on your blog post and choose "View Spatial Photo" for example.
Testing Spatial Photo and Video Embeds

I took it for a spin myself on my Wordpress site. You upload the HEIC photo and Wordpress will embed the image with a JPEG preview. I did have to surround the image with a "<picture>" tag in code to get it to work.

See you in the future!

Black Friday Live! A friend of mine, Robin Senior, who works at Shopify sent me a link on Black Friday to watch on my Vision Pro. Loading the Shopify Live Globe web page in Safari, I saw an Enter VR button. Presented with a giant red lever, I pinched to lower the lever and was transported into a virtual ship orbiting the Earth. On the globe, sites around the world lit up and I could see the transactions arcing in yellow between seller and buyers. The console displays the sales and orders as...

Another Cozy WWDC - visionOS This past Wednesday, developers from around the world joined Apple in-person and online for a day of visonOS talks. Apple's own Vision Pro evangelists gave presentations on designing for Vision Pro, best practices and some really cool examples which are on the App Store already. They also had chat running all day as they took questions for attendees. They closed the event with a live Q&A with the audience both in-house and online. No Spoilers, since Apple is...

BlueSky Weeknd https://go.bsky.app/9kfduUc This past weekend many of us fell into the BlueSky rabbit hole. I joined BlueSky back in July 2023, and it kind of sat on my iPhone waiting for people to post. I'd occasionally remember to cross-post along with Twitter, Mastodon and Threads. BlueSky was pretty much an afterthought. Then at the beginning of November, I started getting new followers en masse. During the first Sunday, the flood gates opened when I previously had around 100 followers....
